Course Description: This course enhances your current Lifeguard certification with a Lifeguard Specialty Add-On Water Park certification.
This course is not a full Lifeguard certification course. This course is a supplement to your current Lifeguard certification. It is added specialty Lifeguard training intended to enhance your existing Lifeguard certification and qualify you to work as a Water Park Lifeguard supervising water park attractions, rides and other aquatic attractions with a maximum depth of 12 feet.
This certification will qualify you to work as a Lifeguard supervising:
- Water park attractions, slides and rides; and,
- Other aquatic attractions, slides and rides.
Water Park aquatic facilities are challenging and varied. Lifeguard-Pro thoroughly trains its lifeguards. Our Lifeguard Water Park certification course, therefore, also includes our full Lifeguard training programs for Shallow Pool (5 feet depth or less) and Swimming Pool (12 feet depth or less). So, when you earn a Lifeguard Water Park certification, you will also be awarded separate certifications for:
- Lifeguard Shallow Pool (5 feet depth or less); and
- Lifeguard Swimming Pool (12 feet depth or less).
Lifeguard Water Park certification will not only provide you with advanced Lifeguard training, it will also provide you with more job opportunities than Lifeguard Shallow Pool (5 feet depth or less) and Lifeguard Swimming Pool (12 feet depth or less).
This is a popular choice for Lifeguard candidates that are highly responsible, very energetic, and enjoy working with large numbers of people. This course is most commonly chosen by Lifeguard candidates who intend to work as a Lifeguard at a water park or another aquatic environment with waterslides, wave pools, aquatic rides and/or aquatic attractions.
Lifeguard Water Park certification is often the required, and always preferred, certification to work as a Lifeguard at a water park.
Course Includes: This course is not a full Lifeguard certification course. It does not include a full Lifeguard certification nor does it include CPR/AED or First Aid training. It only includes:
- Lifeguard Specialty Course – Add-On Water Park--12.0 hrs.
Course Prerequisites: Prior to enrolling in this course, the certification candidate must be able to satisfy the following requirements:
- 15 Years of age or older (with minors consent form for those under 18)
- Ability to swim 300 meters (325 yards) without stopping (there is no time limit)
- Ability to tread water for five minutes
- Ability to dive to a depth of four meters (12 feet)
- Possess a valid Lifeguard certification or be currently enrolled in a full Lifeguard certification course which includes CPR and First Aid.
Course Objectives: At the end of this course, the certification candidate should be able to:
- Safely supervise a water park aquatic environment (pool, waterslides, water rides, and aquatic attractions) with a maximum depth of 12 feet.
- Identify and appropriately respond to a victim in distress in and around the water.
- Recognize and appropriately respond to hazards in and around the water, and take the appropriate action to safeguard patrons, while taking into account the lifeguard’s personal ability, environmental factors, and all prevailing safety procedures.
- Effectively perform all of the basic water rescues for a water park environment with a pools, waterslides, water rides, and aquatic attractions with a maximum depth of 12 feet.

- Attend and successfully complete in-person training with a Lifeguard-Pro Instructor.*
